Chair, vice re-elected

The Northwest Catholic District School Board held elections for chair and vice-chair at its meeting Saturday.
Trustee Cathy Bowen was acclaimed, for a second term, as chair of the Board.
She lives in Sioux Lookout and has served as a trustee since 2003.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to continue to serve as the chair of the board for another year, and I want to thank the board for placing their confidence in me,” Bowen said.
Trustee Teresa Larson, meanwhile, was re-elected as vice-chair.
She lives in Atikokan and has served as a trustee since 2010.
“I am thankful and humbled to serve our board as vice-chair for the coming year,” said Larson.
“As a board, we will continue to focus on providing excellence through Catholic education,” she added.
“Our families and communities are blessed to be served by chair Cathy Bowen and vice-chair Teresa Larson,” said Director of Education Rick Boisvert.
“Leaders who are so committed to the achieving the mission of our board and doing what is best for our students,” he noted.
