Celebrate Father’s Day at market

Press Release

Celebrate Father’s Day this Saturday (June 16) at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market in Fort Frances by treating your well-deserving man to a gourmet meal at the market kitchen.
The mouth-watering barbecue buffet will feature pork and apple burgers from Rainy River Meats and wild rice beef patties from Cornell Farms, finished by a scrumptious slice of pie from Nighswanders’ Home Baking.
The market is the ideal place to pick up a unique homemade Father’s Day card. MM Creations of Thunder Bay and Nighwanders’ of Barwick both have lovingly crafted cards which are waiting for your heartfelt message to Dad!
Meanwhile, many great gifts for Dad can be found at the market this Saturday. For those who like to barbecue, Rainy River Meats will have a selection of fresh and frozen meats, including steaks and pre-made kebobs ready to be thrown on the grill.
Top off these juicy cuts with award-winning blueberry barbecue sauce produced in Vermilion Bay, Ont.
Visit A.G.’s Produce for the freshest vegetables of the season. This week at market there will be new potatoes, green onions, green beans, wax beans, Swiss chard, lettuce mix, and herbs.
Visit early in the morning to ensure you catch the limited quantity of new strawberries, snow peas, and baby carrots.
Satisfy Dad’s sweet tooth by purchasing market desserts and sweet treats such as cookies from Melissa’s Kitchen. Of course, you will need to purchase a Nighswander pie after tasting one at the market kitchen.
Pie varieties include lemon meringue, wild blueberry, apple crumble, peach, and strawberry rhubarb (many flavours come sugar-free for the health-conscious eater).
Other market gift ideas include hand-crafted bird feeders, bird houses, and wooden planters for the outdoor enthusiast. Seven Bends Honey Farm will be selling survival candles, which are a necessity for any camping kit.
“Art by Cher” is displaying several airplane prints, which would make the ideal gift for Dad.
If you are feeling lucky this weekend, you can enter your Dad to win $10,000! The Riverside Foundation for Health Care will be at the market selling its “Canada Day Cash” lottery tickets for the draw on July 1.
Tickets cost $20 each, three for $50, or seven for $100.
With all these gift choices, there is no reason you should miss this Saturday’s market.
Located on McIrvine Road just north of Canadian Tire, it is open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
