Catholic board to highlight excellence

Press Release

The Northwest Catholic District School Board will be hosting its annual “Celebration of Excellence” awards night to highlight the excellent service and Distinguished Catholic Leadership of staff.
“It is important that we take time to celebrate the achievements, dedication, and service of all staff in our Catholic system,” noted board vice-chair Cathy Bowen.
“And we look forward to bringing these staff members together this Friday (Sept. 16) in Fort Frances, the weekend of our first board meeting of the school year,” she added.
Staff will be recognized for five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service.
There also will be special Distinguished Catholic Leadership awards presented to staff who have demonstrated a strong work ethic and dedicated Catholic leadership in our system.
This year, our theme for Catholic education in Ontario is “Walking in the Light of Christ.”
“As the board covers a large geographical distance, it is important to bring together colleagues across the system to let them know that their work is valued and appreciated,” said Director of Education Mary-Catherine Kelly.
“The Distinguished Catholic Leaders were selected by their peers and this makes the awards have an even greater significance for the staff member,” she noted.
“The Northwest Catholic District School Board has outstanding teachers and support staff, and the trustees are proud to offer this recognition event to celebrate the great work of the people who so generously provide excellent service to the children and families in our communities,” remarked board chair Anne-Marie Fitzgerald.
