The Northwest Catholic District School Board will hold both an inaugural meeting and regular one tomorrow starting at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Francis School library.
During the inaugural meeting, there will be an election of a chair and vice-chair for the next year.
Previously, Robert van Oort of Dryden served as chair while Anne-Marie Fitzgerald of Fort Frances was vice-chair.
Three presentations then are on the agenda for the regular meeting.
“We’re going to have a demonstration of ‘smart board’ technologies by teachers that are just learning the new technology from St. Francis School,” said Education Director Mary Catherine Kelly.
The board also will be hearing a presentation by Keith Loucks for Northwinds Energy.
“The rationale for that presentation is that our board is looking at trying to be environmentally-friendly in all of our operations,” Kelly explained. “So he has ideas and suggestions for us that will help us to be economical and energy-efficient.”
Finally, Our Lady of the Way School principal Brendan Hyatt will highlight activities and accomplishments of his school.
Regular business also is on the agenda tomorrow, with such things as reports by board committees, the chairperson report, and school council meeting minutes/reports.
