The Northwest Catholic District School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. at St. Patrick’s School in Atikokan.
This meeting will include a presentation on the budget by Superintendent of Business Chris Howarth.
That will be followed by presentations from various board committees.
With the provincial implementation of the Broader Public Service Sector (BPS) Accountability Act, the local Catholic board also will receive a report on how it effects their own policies when it comes to procurement and expenses.
The current recommendation to the board from senior administration is that policies not be revised until provincial work group recommendations are released, and otherwise be informally implemented where warranted.
Items also to be looked at tomorrow are administrative procedures, including use of volunteers, fees for learning materials and activities, and student fundraising, as well as voluntary exit surveys.
Meanwhile, this month’s “Recognition of Excellence” will be presented to Shannon Richard and Amy LaFroy for organizing the first school-centered “Stations of the Cross” at St. Patrick’s.
The project saw student artwork and stations set up around the hallways so that classes could walk in “Jesus’ footsteps.”
