Press Release
The Rainy River Future Development Corp. and the Town of Fort Frances have announced the location, time, and theme of this year’s Canada Day parade and kiddies’ bike parade.
The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. on July 1, beginning at the Safeway parking lot.
The floats then will proceed down Armit Avenue and east along Front Street, ending at the Sorting Gap Marina.
Following the parade, the second-annual Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Festival will take place from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The theme of this year’s parade is “There’s Something in the Water.”
The planning committee is inviting all businesses, organizations, groups, and individuals to enter a float to be a part of the July 1 celebrations.
It is asked that each float try to incorporate the parade’s theme with, of course, its own unique touch.
Prizes for first, second, and third place will be awarded to the top three floats.
Those participating are reminded that all floats are permitted to distribute candy to the spectators attending the parade.
With the enthusiastic participation of the community, this year’s parade surely will be a success.
