TORONTO—The New Democrats have unveiled their shadow cabinet, promising each of the critics will hold the minority Liberals to account.
But NDP leader Andrea Horwath is not issuing any kind of call for her critics to antagonize the government, saying her focus is on co-operation, not power or egos.
All 17 members of the NDP got postings, with veteran Gilles Bisson named transportation critic, France Gelinas in health, and Cheri DiNovo at community and social services.
Among the new members, Kenora-Rainy River’s Sarah Campbell will take on natural resources and aboriginal affairs while criminal lawyer Jagmeet Singh becomes critic to the attorney general.
The Progressive Conservatives have yet to announce their shadow appointments, although Peter Shurman already has been named finance critic.
