BWN Dinner

After raising $4,000 for the local Easter Seals Society last year, the local Business Women’s Network is hoping to wrangle up more money for the charity—and have a good time doing it.
Their fourth-annual fundraiser is slated Saturday, April 27 at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
“We’re calling it ‘Miss Kitty’s Saloon.’ It’s kind of a ‘Gunsmoke’ theme,” said Janis Lesko, chair of the charity fundraiser committee.
“We have a wonderful evening planned with dinner, entertainment, a silent auction, and dancing,” she added.
Lesko noted the committee has been hard at work dreaming up ways to create a Western atmosphere.
“We even have names for the food items on the menu,” she remarked, adding many other details, such as the entertainment, are being kept under wraps for now.
“It’s always a fun time,” enthused BWN chair Bev Sisco. “It’s probably going to be the best one yet.
“Every one we’ve had has its own uniqueness. But this one will be a little more casual—people can really kick up their heels,” she added.
The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30. Unlike some of the more formal dinners previously hosted by the BWN, guests can dress casual—or really get into the spirit of things and be a cowboy for an evening.
Lesko noted tickets sales are going “reasonably well,” but would like to see as many people as possible come out for rootin’, tootin’ time.
Tickets, which are available at Holmlund Financial and Tammi’s Flowers & Gifts, cost $40 per person. Tables of eight or 10 also can be reserved.
