Monthly supper
coming up Friday
The president of the local Legion Ladies Auxiliary welcomed everyone back from the summer vacation and is anticipating another great year.
Fall looks to be very busy.
There were 30 members present. Alfreda Easton won the September birthday draw while Sandra Pruys won the attendance draw.
There was a reminder that the auxiliary will be hosting the Rainycrest Bingo this Wednesday (Sept. 21) and again on Oct. 19.
If you plan to volunteer, please be at Rainycrest for 6:15 p.m.
It’s always lots of fun and the residents love it.
As well, we will have our next monthly supper this Friday (Sept. 23) starting at 5:30 p.m. The menu is pork cutlets with all the trimmings and homemade pies for dessert.
In October, there will be a retirement dinner.
Our regular meeting on Oct. 12 will be a potluck dinner. As well as your favourite dish, please remember to bring along a non-perishable item for the November hamper.
In other news, the annual Remembrance Day Tea will be held Sunday, Nov. 6. Everyone is busy preparing goodies, pies, and crafts.
If you would like to volunteer for any of the working groups or help out at a table, let us know.
Also, all donations for the tables are welcome. Lists for cookies, etc. will be passed around at the next meeting.
Finally, we will be having an election of officers at the November meeting. If you would like to help with the nominating committee, or nominate someone for a position, contact Mary Ducharme.
Any ladies interested in joining the Legion Auxiliary are asked to contact Linda Larocque at 274-1567.
Membership in the auxiliary no longer is restricted to relatives of veterans.
The Legion Auxiliary is a great way to meet people and contribute to your community.
