Business sets up shop downtown

Fort Frances entrepreneur Mark Faragher of Nova Body Works, located in the town’s industrial park, has given people easier access to some of his locally-made fibreglass products by setting up shop downtown.
Known as “Factory Outlet,” the store–located at 509 Portage Ave. (formerly Cripes, It’s a Castle)–already is attracting customers interested in purchasing hot tub liners, “sleyaks,” antique-look fiberglass tubs, and “TopUp” toppers.
Faragher’s shop soon will be mass-producing the TopUp covers for Chicago-based TICOM Corp. That contract is what prompted the move of existing stock to another location.
“We had to make some room in our shop so we brought [stock] downtown,” said Bill White, manager of the “Factory Outlet.”
“This way, we can offer product to the public at good prices,” he noted, adding additional supplies, such as truck visors and running boards, also were available at the downtown location.
White also said the “Factory Outlet” will take orders for fibreglass products in stock which don’t match a customer’s needs.
“We can custom-build,” he noted.
