Roll out the red carpet—the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce will honour some of the district’s finest this Saturday night during its 12th-annual business awards at La Place Rendez-Vous.
Chamber manager Dawn Booth said she’s been hard at work planning the evening, to which she once again is looking forward.
“I think it’s a good opportunity not only for the Chamber of Commerce, but people in general, to recognize all the hard work businesses do in the community each and every year,” she remarked.
“The Chamber is extremely proud to once again be able to embrace excellence in the Rainy River District, with the Chamber business awards coming up on Nov. 3,” echoed Chamber president Christine Denby.
“We have much to be proud of in our area, and an event such as this one provides the public with the chance to nominate deserving individuals and businesses. This is our 12th year, which in itself is something to be proud of,” she added. “We look forward to seeing everyone out that night to enjoy the Borderland Ensemble, good food and good company.”
The annual gala will feature a buffet dinner, complimentary wine, a silent auction, and, of course, the awards ceremony, emceed by Denby and second vice-president Nancy Daley.
Cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7. Music will be provided by the Borderland Orchestra Ensemble.
The awards program will get underway around 8:30 p.m. and run for about two hours. Sponsors will present their respective awards, accompanied by a slide show put together by Shaw Cable’s Randy Thoms.
Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce office (across from Canada Safeway). They cost $45 each for Chamber members and $50 for non-Chamber members, and also are available at a discount when bought in tables of 10.
Booth said about 170 tickets have been sold so far, already exceeding last year’s attendance of about 150. The maximum capacity is 200.
