The Rainy River District School Board will vote to approve revisions to its 2011-12 budget at tonight’s meeting here.
If approved, the revised budget will see an increase of $614,627 to $48,952,635.
This adjustment comes from the Oct. 31, 2011 enrolment, changes in grants for student needs due to enrolment and staffing changes, a change in tax revenue from municipalities, and an increase in Education Program Office (EPO) grants.
The board was required to submit these revised estimates to the Ministry of Education in December.
Tonight’s meeting, which gets underway at 7 p.m. at the board office on Second Street East, also will see a vote to approve motions that will see the board continue its practice of employee recognition.
Meanwhile, this month’s “Recognition of Excellence” will go towards J.W. Walker School’s drama club.
As well, School Effectiveness leader Sylvia Parker will give a presentation on “Collaborative Inquiry for Learning Mathematics.”
