There’s still time to get your tickets for the Fort Frances Kiwanis Club’s Good Friday breakfast (April 6).
June Caul, who is co-organizing the event with Diane Maxey, said only about 50 tickets had been sold as of yesterday.
Organizers are hoping to sell upwards of 230 for the breakfast, which will get underway at 8 a.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous.
Caul said tickets will be sold through to the end of the day on Wednesday, April 4—assuming there’s any left by then.
The breakfast has been known to sell out in years past.
Tickets, which cost $10 each, are available from all Kiwanis members, as well as at several locations around town, including Lidkea Optometry, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts, and Robin Wright-Investors Syndicate.
Rev. Jacob Quast, of the Church of the Lutheran Hour here, will be the guest speaker while the “Fort Harmonies,” the choir led by Maxey, will provide the music.
The event began here back in 1994 by Kiwanis past governor Ken Koprowski.
Its purpose is to celebrate Good Friday in a spirit of unity with a non-denominational event.
The cost of the breakfast is subsidized by the Kiwanis, so it also serves as a way for the Kiwanis to say “thank you” to the public for its support.
In related news, lovers of music are reminded an Easter cantata will be performed Sunday, April 15 starting at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church.
Admission is a free-will offering.
A repeat performance will be held Sunday, April 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in International Falls.
