There aren’t many tickets left for the Rainy River District Breast Health Network’s first-ever “Bras for a Cause” event, which is set for Thursday night at the Legion here.
“There may be still be a few but they [tickets] really sold fast,” noted Network chair Teresa Hazel.
She said the evening promises to be a lot of fun as “Ivanka” is welcomed back to the stage to do a comedic sketch on preparing for a mammogram.
Hazel said they’ve also lined up a few male models to showcase bras that were designed by individuals and organizations for the “Designer Bra” fashion show set to take place that night, as well.
“It should be a lot of fun,” Hazel laughed about the fashion show.
“I am surprised at the men who so willingly stepped up to model.”
She noted “Bras for a Cause” is an event to promote awareness about breast cancer and total breast health for women of all ages.
With 2014 being an off-year for the “Luncheon of Hope,” which is held biennially, the breast health network wanted to focus on a holistic approach to wellness.
“Whether that be eating right or exercise,” Hazel noted.
“And our focus this year is laughter being the best medicine, and having fun and taking care of yourself that way.
“We’re just looking forward to a fun night of laughs,” she reiterated.
The event gets underway at 7 p.m., with snacks and refreshments being served.
Tickets cost $15, which are available by calling Shawn McCaig (274-4817) or Hazel (276-5491).
