Branding survey now available

Staff

Everyone now can have their say on the branding process underway in Fort Frances.
As of this morning, the survey is available online at fort-frances.com
Paper copies of the survey will be available at Civic Centre as of tomorrow morning.
Residents are being urged to answer the following six questions:
•What makes Fort Frances different than other communities? What surprises you about Fort Frances?
•Fort Frances and area is the only place in the world that you can (fill in the blank).
•When you were last away on a trip or vacation, when someone asked you, “What’s it like living in Fort Frances,” what did you tell them?
•The community has been waiting for someone who will run with the “big idea” that is possible given Fort Frances’ resources, infrastructure, and geography. What would you suggest?
•Your job is to invent the next great marketing tagline, like Nike’s “Just Do It” or Coke’s “Happiness Is.”
What one-, two-, or three-word description (tagline) can you think of that summarizes what’s so great/unique about Fort Frances?
•Describe your vision for the future of Fort Frances in 20 words or less?
The town’s website also has information about the project’s background.
As previously reported, Twist Marketing, an award-winning Calgary-based firm, has been hired to work with the community and establish a unified brand across Fort Frances.
The process got underway last Wednesday night with a workshop at La Place Rendez-Vous, where about two dozen stakeholders gathered to learn about branding, as well as provide initial input to help shape the community’s future.
Input gathered from all sources will help Twist with the consultation process.
Twist will work with a brand steering committee made up of a cross-section of 20 or so town staff and community residents.
The committee will act both as a sounding board and idea generator.
The process is expected to wrap up by March and produce the following:
•a simple economic and community development strategy;
•a new logo;
•creative concepts to show how the brand is implemented; and
•a foundation for marketing dedicated to achieving that economic and community development strategy.
