The proposed development of a Boston Pizza restaurant here got the go ahead last night after town council looked over a report outlining the purpose, background, and scope of work required to build it.
The restaurant and sports bar is slated to be built at 810 King’s Highway (next to the Super 8 Motel).
Municipal planner Faye Flatt issued the report outlining the lease agreement between the property owner and the franchisee.
The property owner is set to be responsible for the site works throughout the project, then the franchisee will take over responsibility for construction of the building.
The addition of parking spaces, aisles, and adjacent areas cost $63,000 while the lighting, landscaping, and planting will cost $7,000.
Construction is set to begin next month, with Boston Pizza hoping to open its doors to the public in December.
Job creation is one of the key promises the restaurant has made, with projected employment of up to 100 full-time and part-time staff.
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. seven days a week for lunch, dinner, and late-night service.
