Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Ken Boshcoff is scheduled to speak at tonight’s town council meeting, offering greetings to the newly-elected mayor and councillors.
Other business at tonight’s meeting will include:
•applications for tax adjustment at 1330 Woodward St., 450-452 Scott St., and 460 Scott St.;
•a bylaw to designate the head of the municipality for the purposes of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act;
•a bylaw to authorize temporary borrowing to meet current expenditures of the corporation for 2007;
•a bylaw to authorize a credit agreement with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce;
•council’s appointment to the Regional Economic Development Committee (REDC); and
•council appointments to the Rainy River District Municipal Association, Rainy River District Veterinary Committee, Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society, and the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association board and executive.
Tonight’s council meeting is scheduled to start around 6:30 p.m. It will be preceded by the committee of the whole, which will meet at 5:30 but is expected to be in-camera until 6 p.m.
The next meeting of council will not be held until Jan. 8.
