Drowning was determined to be the cause of death of a 54-year-old Fort Frances man whose body was found Friday after a boating accident on Lake of the Woods near Morson.
Lawrence John Rose had failed to arrive at his rendezvous point coming off the lake that day, prompting concerned citizens to begin a search for him, police reported.
They located the victim’s boat adrift and found the victim nearby. Searchers tried to resuscitate him at the scene but were unsuccessful.
Rose was not wearing a lifejacket, police said.
A post-mortem examination was conducted Monday morning.
