Canadian Blood Services will be back in town next week for its annual spring donor clinic, and once again is looking for as many people as possible to share the “gift of life.”
CBS spokesperson Harvey Heather said they will be back at Fort Frances High School on Wednesday, April 21 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and again on Thursday, April 22 from noon-3 p.m. and then 5-8 p.m.
“At this clinic, we have the potential to help up to 864 when we reach our goal of 288 units of blood,” Heather noted.
“You can make a difference by calling now 1-888-2DONATE [1-888-236-6283] to make an appointment or for further information,” he added.
Heather also extended “a big thank you to all of our community partners in Fort Frances and area for your support of our clinics in Fort Frances.”
“Your support has enabled us, in the past year, to help up to 1,812 patients with the 604 donations [units] of blood collected here in Fort Frances,” he remarked.
“A single donation of blood can help up to three patients in the 90 hospitals we serve in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario hospitals.”
These donations help CBS provide blood for surgery, trauma, cancer, and other treatments.
