‘BizKid$ Camp’ coming here

Press Release

The “BizKid$” summer camp is being expanded to Fort Frances!
The first camp was introduced successfully as a pilot effort in Dryden two years ago by the Northwest Business Centre.
Now “BizKid$” has entered its third summer in Dryden, and we are pleased to offer this exciting camp in Fort Frances this summer.
“BizKid$” is a five-day camp (July 23-27) hosted by the Northwest Business Centre and supported by numerous local sponsors.
It gives children aged nine-12 hands-on experience with planning, organizing, and operating a real storefront business.
Campers gain a basic overview of entrepreneurship through exciting interactive games and activities, presentations from local entrepreneurs, and field trips to local businesses.
The camp focuses around “Market Day,” where the campers learn the most important stage of entrepreneurship: putting what they’ve learned into action!
Campers have the opportunity to set up a business and operate it for three hours.
“Nothing boosts self-esteem and confidence among young people quite like the experience of running their own business for a day,” said Stefanie Armstrong of the Northwest Business Centre.
For those interested in supporting our up-and-coming young entrepreneurs, we encourage you to visit them on “Market Day,” which will be held Friday, July 27 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Scott Street.
