From the OPP
On Oct. 9 around 8 p.m., while conducting a patrol on Portage Avenue in Fort Frances, members of the Rainy River District OPP observed a motorcycle being driven with no lights and no licence plate.
Officers activated their emergency lights but the motorcycle driver refused to stop.
The driver soon lost control of the bike while trying to navigate a turn onto another street, got off of the bike, and began fleeing from officers on foot.
The male was apprehended by officers and identified as a 22-year-old of Fort Frances.
He was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance, driving while under suspension, and driving a motor vehicle with no permit.
He also was charged with driving without a proper headlight, driving without a proper rear light, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing today at the Fort Frances Courthouse.
