On Saturday, the Rainy River District OPP responded to the report of a fraud regarding a female canvassing for donations on behalf of a local resident concerning medical expenses.
The suspect is trying to fundraise on behalf of the local resident without consent.
Fundraising initiatives are important and assist many different groups, but residents need to inform themselves as to the source of those individuals asking for money.
The OPP would like to remind residents to use charitable and registered agencies to ensure the fundraising is legitimate.
