Fashion and fundraising will come together at the Beauty Show 2017 on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Copper River Inn.
Running from 6:30-9 p.m., this evening will be filled with a runway demonstration of the latest trends in bridal and graduation fashion with updated hairstyles, makeup, and formal attire, said organizer Alicia Anderson.
The event also will be a fundraiser, with all the proceeds going to help support the Fort Frances “Friends of Animals.”
Anderson noted it will be a “ladies’ night out” in the name of a good cause.
Tickets cost $20 each, which are available at A Little Off The Top in Fort Frances, as well as at the Beauty Chalet in Rainy River.
There will be fundraising activities for “Friends of Animals” throughout the night, including a prom dress auction.
“So any of you prom ladies needing a gown that isn’t going to break your budget, but has you looking glamorous all night, do not miss this event,” Anderson stressed.
Gently-used prom dresses are needed for the auction.
Those who would like to donate theirs can bring them to Curvy Chick at 256 Scott St. by this Saturday (Feb. 11).
Many local businesses are participating in this event or supporting it through donations, noted Anderson.
For example, Curvy Chick will be showcasing some beautiful bridal gowns available to purchase for the 2017 bridal season.
Several hairstylists and makeup artists, meanwhile, will be highlighting the latest beauty trends.
Diane Gibson of Gibson Design will decorate for the event while Party Rock DJ services (Melanie Williams) will be rocking the runway music.
Williams also be the emcee for the evening.
Lowey’s Greenhouse will be showcasing floral arrangements while Emily Drouin Photography will be snapping photos to capture the fun of the evening.
There also will be a silent auction, as well as door prizes to be won, Anderson noted.
