Ballard, Ross top tourney

The ladies of Kitchen Creek Golf Course took part in a “two-ball best ball” tournament under hot, sunny skies Saturday.
The twosome of Krista Ballard and Megan Ross beat the heat and won the championship flight with a scorching score of 69, edging out the runner-up duo of Donna Lee and Kim Hekl by just one stroke (70).
Punky Stadum and Sylvia Cochrane were third (74) while Judy McLeod and Sharon Angus placed fourth (76).
Dana Kosowick and Elaine Sande captured the first flight with a 77, followed by Janet Fedoruk and Mary-Beth Tkachuk (86) and Wendy Judson and Doloris Eyolfson (89).
Cash and merchandise were awarded for the winners in each respective flight.
The club executive also put together prizes for closest-to-the-hole and longest putt, plus draw prizes were up for grabs.
In the closest-to-the-pin competition, the winners were Bugsy Morrisseau (#5), Jean Dick (#7), McLeod (#11), and Angus (#13).
Cheryl Gartley drained the longest putt on #9 while Stadum was closest to the line on #8.
