The Northwest Catholic District School Board is seeking a volunteer community member to sit on its audit committee.
The role of the audit committee is to:
•review the overall effectiveness of the board’s internal controls;
•discuss with board officials the board’s significant financial risks and the measures to be taken to monitor and manage these risks;
•review the internal auditor’s mandate;
•make recommendations to the board on the content of annual or multi-year internal audit plans; and
•review at least once in each fiscal year the performance of the internal auditor.
The commitment is to three meetings a year.
Anyone with an accounting background, who is willing to volunteer a few hours a year for this purpose, is most welcome to call the director’s office at 274-2931.
