Assault victim suffers broken arm

Fort Frances OPP, assisted by members of the Northwest Region Criminal Investigation Unit, is continuing to investigate an assault that left a 23-year-old Fort Frances man with a broken arm.
The victim reported being assaulted Sunday at 11 p.m. while at a residence on First Street here.
In other news, police responded to the Fort Frances Cemetery last Thursday in regards to a mischief complaint.
Sometime over the previous week, nine headstones had been knocked over.
The cost of uprighting these monuments is estimated at $800.
Fort Frances OPP also is investigating several mischief complaints. Sometime over the evening of Aug. 29, a 1969 Buick Electra was vandalized while parked on 500 block of First Street.
The vehicle was “keyed” on all sides and the convertible roof damaged. As well, two speakers and a 300-watt Pioneer amplifier were stolen.
The total cost of the damage and theft is estimated to be $7,000.
