Press Release
The Arthritis Society’s annual door-to-door campaign was huge success yet again!
The 2008 goal for Fort Frances was $10,000 and with the direction of co-chairs Elma Tucker and Janice Chabot, along with treasurer Donna Law, the volunteers pulled together and surpassed it.
“The volunteers here have so much heart and dedication, and are focused on helping and changing the lives of so many people in their community,” noted Charlene Snow, regional manager of the Arthritis Society.
Fort Frances was the second-highest community outside of Thunder Bay for raising funds. To date, $10,513.75 has been brought in here!
A huge thank you goes out to our top canvasser, Marie Greenier, who raised $630, and to our top runner-up canvassers, Elma Tucker, Bill Michl, Betty Godin, and Gwen Perlette.
This year, the Arthritis Society was honoured to hold an appreciation night to thank all of its wonderful volunteers at the Knights of Columbus Hall here last week.
“It was a fabulous evening, and we were pleased to be able to honour our top volunteers,” said Snow.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped to support the Arthritis Society’s dream of a life without pain for those suffering with arthritis.
