Artists and collectors are invited to loan artworks related to Ranier for display during the Ranier Centennial Festival this Saturday (Aug. 16).
The works will be shown in the Ranier Community Building along with historical displays.
“For decades, Ranier has been the inspiration for countless paintings, drawings, photos, and art objects,” noted exhibit organizer Doug Skrief.
“The centennial committee thought this would be a great opportunity for people to share some of those works with villagers and visitors,” he added.
Included in the exhibit will be some works created last month by Ontario artists while they were looking towards the Ranier skyline from Pither’s Point in Fort Frances.
Those with artworks related to Ranier may contact Skrief at 1-218-286-3110 or Pam Hawley in Fort Frances at 274-7891.
Works, which should be ready to be hung or displayed, can be dropped off at the Ranier city office during working hours.
The deadline for submission is noon on Friday (Aug. 15).
