Around 10:20 p.m. yesterday, the Fort Frances OPP received a report of a robbery in progress at the Safeway gas bar here.
Investigation revealed a male entered the store pointing a handgun and demanded money from the teller.
The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money, then fled the store towards Church Street.
At the time, he was wearing a white hooded jacket, blue jeans, and white running shoes.
The Northwest Region Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted an immediate search of the area, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
The Fort Frances OPP, with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Unit, is continuing to investigate this incident.
Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.
