Applicants sought for share of Moffat Fund

For the fourth-straight year, the Town of Fort Frances will be receiving money from the Moffat Family Fund to hand out to local groups and service clubs with the aim of helping youth and families.
As such, the local Moffat Family Fund committee is now putting out the call for applications for suitable ways to distribute some $50,000 to worthwhile causes this year.
“We had our first meeting [Tuesday],” noted Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig, who heads the local committee. “The ball’s started rolling. We’re putting it forward to the public now.”
As in previous years, requests can run a maximum of four pages, or 1,500 words in length. They also must include a specific dollar amount and the rationale behind it (as well as charitable numbers for organizations).
The funding proposals must benefit children, families, and the “less advantaged.”
An information package is available upon request at the front desk at the Civic Centre or by phoning 274-5323.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Oct. 11, noted McCaig.
