Fort Frances residents will have the unique opportunity to meet each other and develop new friendships when Fort Floral hosts the 17th-annual FTD Good Neighbour Day event on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Fort Floral (located at 310 Scott St.) will give away 2,500 flowers in bunches of a dozen—absolutely free to anyone who visits the shop—while supplies last.
However, there is one catch.
Fort Floral owner Brad Hogan asks that anyone who picks up a dozen free flowers will be asked to keep one of the flowers for themselves and give away the others to 11 different people—spreading goodwill and friendship in the community.
“We hope that the people of Fort Frances will be able to get acquainted with new people or will renew an old friendship during FTD Good Neighbour Day,” said Hogan.
“We hope to help create a friendlier, more caring and compassionate world, starting right here in Fort Frances,” he added.
FTD Good Neighbour Day is being celebrated for the 17th year at participating FTD floral shops throughout Canada and the U.S. as a day of celebrating goodwill towards all people.
