The Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service has organized the annual Christmas tree drop off for this Saturday, January 11 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Due to a steady decline in the number of natural trees, there will be no tree pickup by firefighters this year. However, people can drop their trees off in the same location as last year – Daryl’s Custom Landscapes property located on McIrvine Road. Take the first left turn north of 8th Street. Look for posted signs if unsure. Firefighters will be on site to assist with unloading of Christmas trees.
Anyone wanting to make a donation can do so at the Fire Hall or on the drop site. Donations will be given to a worthy cause within the community, which has yet to be determined.
“We would like to give a sincere thank you to Daryl’s Custom Landscapes for their continued support and providing a place for residents to drop off their trees,” said Wayne Riches, Captain of Fire Prevention and Education.
