Anna Karenina Opens At the Townshend Theatre

It will be a night of drama when the students at the high school put on their rendition of the classic story “Anna Karenina,” this Thursday at the Townshend Theatre.
The students, under the direction of Charles Fisher and Kim Badiuk, have been hard at work getting in their final rehearsals before opening night.
“This is a different type of play for the high school, because it is a drama and is much more heavy than what we usually do,” Fisher said last Tuesday. “Everyone has been hard at work getting their lines memorized and the final touches done, and we are all looking forward to putting on the play.”
Fisher and Badiuk, the directors and producers of the play, have taken on the daunting task of pulling together 23 cast members to recreate the classic Helen Edmundson novel.
“We really have not had too many problems so far,” Fisher said. “We initially had some trouble getting the cast on track and keeping them there. Though this end of a play is certainly more time consuming, I like it because it gives you a chance to make the show the way you want it to be. It is interesting to be on this side of it, rather than in the play itself.”
Tickets for the play, which will run from the 15th to the 17th, are currently being sold at Northwoods Gallery and can also be purchased the night of the performance at the Theatre Box Office. The price for the tickets are 7$ for adults and $5 for students.
