All proceeds from the December-March 50/50 raffles will be going towards the purchase of two new ultrasound machines for Riverside Health Care Facilities. The Facilities had two ultrasound machines that were purchased in 2010. The probes and the image quality of the machines were decreasing at a rapid rate and urgently needed replacing. An opportunity to purchase two new ultrasound machines for the price of one arose in December. The purchase of these new machines was approved by the Facilities, and the Foundation approved to support the full price of them at a cost of $215,596.00. The new machines, which came with a cardiac probe package arrived on site in January and are already in use to provide enhanced image quality and improved diagnostics.

Although the machines have already arrived, more funding is still needed to cover the full cost of them. The monthly 50/50’s have raised just over $75,000 so far to go towards the new machines so far. With every ticket you purchase, you are also helping to purchase the ultrasound machines, keeping health care close to home. Early ticket purchases help the pot to grow even larger and encourage even more sales. With more days to purchase this month, there is a bigger chance of the prize pot growing even larger. As always, thank you to West End Motors and Gillons’ Insurance for kicking off the prize pot with $250 each for a guaranteed prize of $500
