And the winner is…

Press release

Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce that the winner of the first monthly Riverside 50/50 electronic raffle is Diane Ross of Fort Frances. The draw was made on November 30 at 11 a.m. A lifetime resident of Fort Frances, Ross was in shock to receive the news of her winning $18,685. “I just thought of my ticket purchase as a donation,” stated Ross, adding, “You never think that something is going to come of it. I was just happy to support something local.”

Any other time, Ross would plan a big trip with her husband Wayne to celebrate and spend some of the winnings. However, because the current situation doesn’t allow for travel she plans to put the money to active use elsewhere and actually have some fun with it instead of letting it sit in the bank. She also plans to donate some of her winnings towards the Riverside Foundation Christmas Appeal which is raising funds for upgrades to the activation room at Rainycrest Long Term Care, as well as to the Blood and Marrow Transplant program at the Ottawa Hospital which holds a special place in her family’s heart.

Tickets for the December raffle are now on sale at www.riversidefoundation.ca/5050 at a cost of 3 for $5, 10 for $10 or our best deal, 60 for $20. If you prefer to purchase offline, call the Foundation Office at 274-4803 to make arrangements. Tickets can always be purchased in someone else’s name and make great stocking stuffers! Check those hard to buy for people off your list and support local health care at the same time!

Riverside Foundation would like to congratulate our grand prize winner and thank everyone who purchased tickets. Your support will help to purchase much needed medical equipment that ensures we can keep health care close to home.
