Alzheimer dinner tickets still available

Tickets are still available for “Forget Me Not,” the annual charitable dinner hosted by the local Alzheimer Society.
Set for this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous, Alzheimer Society executive director Rossana Tomashowski noted ticket sales haven’t been going as well as organizers had hoped.
“We have six tables and we usually we have 12-15,” she noted.
“But obviously it’s still a go and it’s a wonderful event.
“It is what it is,” Tomashowski added, though stressing it’s not too late for people to buy tickets.
Tickets, which cost $50 each or $400 for a table of eight, are available by calling 1-800-682-0245 and paying with a credit card.
They also are at the Rendez-Vous, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts, Dev-Lynne’s, Emo Inn, and Cloverleaf.
If anyone wants to purchase a ticket during the day Saturday, they can stop by the Rendez-Vous as Tomashowski will be there setting up.
“I know that some people are last-minute,” she remarked.
While that isn’t ideal for planning purposes, Tomashowski said they will try to accommodate anyone who wants to attend.
“We would love anyone to come out—even if it’s last-minute,” she noted. “Maybe it’s snowing and you can’t get anywhere, so come to the dinner.
“It’s for a good cause and it’s a good time.”
Tomashowski said local businesses always are very generous in their donation of prizes.
“I think there is over 30 prizes,” she remarked.
“And we have some entertainment, so it will be a good evening.”
Tomashowski also will do a presentation on the #StillHere campaign that launched earlier this month for National Alzheimer Awareness Month.
She reminded people it is a charitable event and tax receipts of $25 will be given.
“We’re so appreciative of the Fort Frances community that supports this event every year,” Tomashowski enthused.
