Press Release
The La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary executive held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 3 in the hospital boardroom.
Dixie Badiuk is gearing up for this year’s “Rock’n for a Reason,” which takes place April 27-28 at the local curling club in conjunction with the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce’s trade show.
Pledge sheets have been delivered, and she is relying on auxiliary members to donate and get lots of pledges.
The goal is to exceed last year’s totals.
If any auxiliary member is interested in rocking, or needs more pledge sheets, contact Dixie at 274-9740.
In other news, the Superior North HAAO 2018 joint spring conference will take place April 27-28 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Four auxiliary members will be attending.
Shirley Scofield, meantime, has been investigating the purchase of vests for the auxiliary, and brought in samples to verify sizes.
The order will be placed for the new vests and hopefully they will arrive in time for the auxiliary’s annual “Strawberry Social” in June.
The vests will be a dark navy, with the new crest located on the left front.
It has been reported the vending machine in the Emergency area will be out of order for two weeks (parts have been ordered).
The Easter gift shop sale went well. A reminder there still is an opening for the gift shop director.
As noted above, the “Strawberry Social” is coming up in June. Joy Lockman is looking for a convener to take over the “Lucky Dozen” table.
Interested members are encouraged to call Joy at 276-6746.
The next newsletter will be out in May and Linda LaRocque would like all articles in by the end of April.
If members have an item of interest or would like to submit an article, contact Linda at 275-9122.
The next executive meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1.
