The Township of Emo is preparing to host the first “Run for the Donut” 5K event on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Starting and finishing at the Lions Park, the race will feature music, prizes, and, of course, doughnuts!
An awards ceremony will take place following the race, with prizes for the top three male and female finishers.
There also will be draw prizes for all the participants.
The event is the culmination of the Emo-Rainy River walk/run program that began earlier this fall.
“The race will wrap up our fall program,” noted race director Tara Allaire.
“Finishing or improving their 5K time is a goal a lot of our participants have been working toward, so the ‘Run for the Donut’ will be a great way to end the season with some fun,” she enthused.
The “Run for the Donut” will start at 10 a.m.
Registration is open to the public, with forms available at the Emo Municipal Office or by e-mailing Emodonutrun@gmail.com
The entry fee is $5 without a T-shirt or $10 with one (to ensure sizing is available, T-shirt orders must be placed by Sept. 21).
T-shirts also will be available with registration on race day in limited sizes.
Race numbers and T-shirts will be available for pick-up prior to the race.
