LINCOLN DUNN

I’m Lincoln Dunn and I’m grateful for the opportunity to run for Emo’s town council.
I’ve lived in Emo for more than 21 years. I’m a parent of two fantastic children who were born and raised in this community. I’ve worked for a number of local companies, including being a part of the team that worked on bringing the New Gold Rainy River Project to the area, and currently work in the education system.
I’m a taxpayer in Emo, a small business owner, and a passionate volunteer. I’m proud of the work I’ve done as president of the Emo Food Bank and Thrift Store, past chair of the Emo Walleye Classic organizing committee, and founder of the Emo Spray Park fundraising committee.
But more than all that, I am confident in Emo’s future and hope to play some small role in it. I’m running for council because I have a contribution to make, ideas to be shared, and a commitment to do the right thing, no matter what.
I want to make sure that Emo is a town in which my children can–and want to–raise their families; a community that is safe, prosperous, growing, and future-focused. I want a better future here for my children, my grandchildren, and the generations that follow.
We have challenges ahead of us; uncertainties in the local economy, increasing infrastructure demands, and a medical clinic in transition. Right now, more than anything, Emo needs a council that not only hears what the community’s priorities are but communicates–clearly and regularly–on how it intends to make those priorities a reality.
It’s easier to act; it’s harder to listen.
I’m thankful for the work that previous councils have done. The next council needs to build upon–not tear down–their efforts, in a manner that is open, transparent, thoughtful, and forward-looking.
I know I can be a valuable part of that team for the next four years.
