‘Life Chain’ coming up

Press Release

This Sunday afternoon (Oct. 4), “Life Chains” again will occupy sidewalks in Canada and the U.S.
There we will silently pray and witness on behalf of voiceless fellow citizens such as unborn babies, vulnerable seniors, and physically- or mentally-challenged people.
Each participant will hold a “life” message sign, and www.lifechain.net again will post the location and time of each “chain.”
Why do we hold “Life Chains?” Each “chain” is a prayerful, public testimony for God to help those who work so hard to protect these powerless people and for a change of heart in those who work to destroy them.
“Life Chains” continue (we are in our 28th year now) because children continue to die.
It is such a travesty of justice—they die for want of defenders.
On Oct. 4, let us think about the way in which modern technologies, such as ultrasound, MRIs, and CT scans, have shown the world that we no longer can dismiss the pre-born infant as “a blob of tissue.”
Rather, they show it to be a living and viable little human being deserving of our protection both before and after birth.
Abortion will cease when all segments of the community realize, quite simply, that by supporting abortion and euthanasia, they are destroying our country and our future.
On International Life Chain Sunday, let us pray that people of influence in the government, the legal profession, medicine, education, business, and particularly in the churches, will work towards a far more life-affirming society with freedom-of-conscience guaranteed for all.
In Fort Frances, our “Life Chain” will go from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.
Participants will line the north side of Scott Street from Armit Avenue to as far west as our numbers will allow.
There will be signs available at the corner of Scott Street and Victoria Avenue.
All priests, pastors and ministers of our various churches are urged to attend with as many of their congregations as possible.
Do remember it is be a silent witness and prayerful hour for an end to the twin evils of abortion and euthanasia.
Participants should stand at least 15 feet apart, and spend the whole hour in peaceful and silent prayer for this life-affirming cause.
