Get-well wishes are extended to Nonnie Barker, who recently underwent surgery. She came home from the hospital on Saturday.
Our community of friends and family wish to send Nonnie encouragement and support during her illness.
Meanwhile, I had the opportunity to see both Mabel McCormick and Jeannine Shine last week. Both ladies say they are doing very well and both are very positive.
George Hyatt also is home from the hospital.

The Calvary Baptist Church in Emo will host a “meet-and-greet tea” for Conrad and Lois Dueck and their four children on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 3-5 p.m.
Conrad is the new minister at Calvary Baptist.

The Emo Legion held its weekly Wednesday card games and when the last card was played, the high winners were Darlene Bruce and Gerry Allan. The low went to Roy Elias and Nicole Drennan.
Lois Labelle won the draw.

There will be an “old-time music” dance this Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Emo Legion.
A reminder that the next Bingo at the Emo Legion is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The aMuskie boys’ hockey team will host its annual tea this Saturday (Feb. 16) from 1-3 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous in Fort Frances.
Admission is $2.
Several of the Muskie hockey players hail from our community here in Devlin so be sure to support this event.

If you’re looking for a fun way to enjoy the new Family Day holiday (Feb. 18), the Healthy Community Coalition has something for you.
Activities will take place Monday at the Emo/La Vallee Community Centre that range from skating and shinny hockey to board games. You even can even enjoy a movie or two.
Hot chocolate and popcorn also will be served free of charge.
This day is supported by the Emo, La Vallee, and Chapple communities.

The Rainy River District Women’s Institute will be offering a fun-filled day this Friday (Feb. 15) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Emo Legion in conjunction with Heritage Day celebrations.
Come out and enjoy lunch, door prizes, a bake sale, raffles, and much more.
Admission is $7, with proceeds going towards the new W.I. Museum in Emo.

A husband reminded his wife one day that he never wanted to be attached to a remote life support machine—nor be administered fluids for sustenance.
She promptly unplugged the TV and threw out his beer.
