He only had one goal last year but Tanner Garnham is going to get another shot.
The Fort Frances Lakers announced today the 19-year-old from Portage la Prairie, Man. will be back in action for the three-time defending SIJHL champs this season.
“Tanner is a player that brings energy to our lineup,” Lakers’ head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan in an e-mailed statement.
“He has good speed, plays with an edge, is a fierce forechecker, and goes to the net area hard.
“We will look for Tanner to build on his first season with the team and expand his role,” Strachan added.
Garnham spent two seasons with the Central Plains Capitals of the Manitoba Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League before joining the Lakers last season.
He notched one goal—coming on the last day of the regular season—and five assists in 45 games as a gritty fourth-line contributor.
