These two pine siskins are duking it out over who gets the best seeds from this feeder in order to prepare for winter. Pine siskins, a member of the finch family, are a constant presence here in the Borderlands and have a fairly unique metabolism that they can ramp up for several hours at a time in order to keep themselves warm on freezing winter nights.
