Fire ban for La Vallee

Robin McCormick
Devlin correspondent

Due to the extreme hot and dry weather of late, a fire ban has been put on La Vallee Township.
This includes open air fires for the purpose of cooking or camping.
Other rural townships also have been put under a fire ban.
Fire bans also are declared when widespread fires are stretching firefighting resources.

Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Delbert Barker. He was a friendly, compassionate man who loved his family, loved the Lord, and loved life.
He will be sadly missed by many.
Sincere sympathy, as well, to the family and friends of Milton Westover. This 94-year-old legend lived a life of hard work and tough times.
He was the last of his family of 11 siblings.
I often saw the biggest smile on the face of Betty (his daughter) or a twinkle in the eye of Sis (his granddaughter) as they recounted to me one of the many, many stories he told.

Robin’s 2¢:
This one is for all the loggers, organizers, and volunteers who will be attending the annual loggers’ contest at the Emo Fair on Friday morning.
If you object to logging . . . try using plastic toilet paper!
