Fastball action washed out

Mother Nature washed out both games in the Rainy River District Fastball League playoffs last night.
The Sight & Sound Wolves game at Big Island never got started while the showdown between Barwick and Big Grassy was tied 1-1 after three innings when the rains came.
Both games have been rescheduled for Monday evening (Aug. 24), with the Barwick one starting fresh.
As reported in yesterday’s Daily Bulletin, the Wolves have to beat Big Island in order to remain in the hunt for the RRDFL crown.
Barwick, on the other hand, will be in the league final regardless if they win or lose to Big Grassy.
If the Blue Knights win Monday, they’ll square off for the league title against either Sight & Sound or Big Island on Tuesday (Aug. 25).
But should Big Grassy defeat Barwick, they’ll meet the winner of the Sight & Sound-Big Island game in the semi-final on Tuesday.
The semi-final winner then will play Barwick for all the marbles next Thursday (Aug. 27).
The Wolves find themselves in the must-win situation after falling 3-2 to Barwick this past Tuesday.
Big Island, meanwhile, bounced Rainy River from the playoffs with a 13-0 romp while Big Grassy eliminated Sabaskong thanks to a 6-1 win.
