The Emo-La Vallee Healthy Community Coalition is sponsoring a Family Fun Day this coming Monday (Feb. 18) at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre.
There will be a free family skate from noon-2 p.m., followed by a free shinny hockey game from 2-4 p.m. (please bring your own helmet and gloves).
Upstairs, there will be free movies and board games. Hot chocolate and popcorn also will be available for no charge.
Celebrate the new Family Day holiday by joining in on the fun. Everyone is welcome!

You are invited to join the Community Country Club this coming Thursday (Feb. 14) from 1-3 p.m. at the Golden Age Manor as they make their eighth stop on their “world tour”: Scotland.
Free refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome. Remember to bring you Country Club “passport.”

Everyone is invited to attend the Muskie boys’ hockey team’s annual tea this coming Saturday (Feb. 16) from 1-3 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous in Fort Frances.
Admission is $2, with dessert, coffee, and tea being available. There also will be a bake sale and penny table.

A men’s breakfast is planned for this Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Emo Legion, with the featured speaker being Larry Gamache from Rainy River.
The buffet, costing $10 each, will begin at 8 a.m.

The Lenten lunches will begin this week at St. George’s Anglican Church here in Emo. Services will begin at noon, followed by a light lunch of soup and sandwiches (cost $4).
This is being sponsored by St. George’s in co-operation with the Emo Ministerial Association. Proceeds will go to outreach.

The Emo Inn’s first-annual bonspiel will be held at the Emo Curling Club.
Play will begin on Friday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. and run through to Saturday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.
The entry fee is $120 per team, which includes a supper on the Saturday night.
Space is limited so call 482-1440 after 4 p.m. if you wish to take part.

The marriage video conference held at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo on Feb. 8-9 was well-attended as 107 people took part. By all accounts, the fellowship was excellent and the message was well-received.
The organizers would like to thank everyone who helped make this two-day conference such a huge success.
