Families still need your help

For children and families who are hungry, who are homeless, who have slipped through the cracks, and are alone and desperate, Christmas can feel just like any other day.
With no food, no home for safety and warmth, it is difficult for them to experience the joy of this blessed season.
There is only six days left and we have had close to 200 families who are less fortunate in our district and who applied for Christmas hampers this year.
Unfortunately, we have not raised enough resources to make this possible for the families in need.
Back on Nov. 12, we had sent a generic letter to Fort Frances and Rainy River District residents—and the response we have received is minimal so far. As well, the kettle campaign has been lower than we expected.
In order to assure we can adequately meet the needs of our community and district, we need your support with our Christmas campaign for 2007.
We pray that you will take part in our “Sponsor-A-Family” program, which requires a commitment of $125 for a “singles” hamper, $200 for a “family of four,” or whatever you feel economically appropriate to fulfill the need.
Together, we can make a difference to the many in our community who are facing hard times this Christmas season. If you would like to participate and be part of this important program, contact us at 274-3871 or by fax at 274-0761.
Thank you, again, for your continued prayers and support. We look forward to hearing from you.
