Former town councillor Tannis Drysdale was fined a total of $6,260 here last Friday in conjunction with several charges she faced under the Highway Traffic Act.
She was fined $5,000 for operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and $500 for permitting the use of evidence of validation upon a numbered plate displayed on a motor vehicle other than evidence furnished by the Ministry of Transportation in respect to that motor vehicle.
She also was fined $500 for using evidence of validation upon a numbered plate displayed on a motor vehicle other than evidence furnished by the Ministry of Transportation in respect to that motor vehicle and $260 for driving a motor vehicle with no licence.
Two charges were withdrawn, including permit operation of a vehicle not covered by insurance and permit operation of a vehicle using numbered plates on vehicle other than numbered plate authorized for use of that vehicle.
The six charges were laid during a routine seatbelt initiative back on April 28.
