Emo United Church tea coming soon

Knox United Church in Emo will be holding a Mother’s Day tea and bake sale on Friday, May 9 from 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 10 from 2-4 p.m.
An old-time portrait studio also will be set up.
Admission will be $5 for adults and $2 for children aged eight and up. Come and enjoy the fun—and get your picture taken!

The first-annual Barwick Gun and Hobby Show will take place this Saturday (May 3) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Barwick hall.
Admission is $3 for adults while kids are free. There also will be free coffee.

The St. Patrick’s Catholic Women’s League is holding a spring tea and bake sale this Saturday (May 3) from 1-3 p.m. in the church basement. There will be baking, crafts, and draws.
Admission at the door will be $2 for adults and $1 for children aged five–10 (children four and under are free).

Sturgeon Creek School, north of Barwick, is having its spring concert and tea on Thursday, May 8 starting at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A chess tournament is planned for Friday, May 9, 2008 at Donald Young School here in Emo. Students must register there by tomorrow (May 1).
The entry fee is $2 per student. There will be no canteen, so be sure to bring along a lunch.

Just a reminder a pancake breakfast will be held this Friday (May 2) at Donald Young School starting at 8:30 a.m. Please come and have breakfast with your child(ren).
The school speech contest also will be held Friday starting at 11:15 a.m.

Linda Angus and her “Relay for Life” team would like to extend a thank you to all the businesses, friends, and family who donated items for their silent auction fundraiser.
Thanks also to the Emo Legion for donating the table.

The Muskie football team will be holding its annual spring camp from May 12-15 and May 20-23.
If you’ve never played football before, but are interested in suiting up for the coming season, this is an excellent opportunity to give it a try.
