EFSC still needs coach

Calling all figure skating coaches! The Emo Figure Skating Club needs your help.
The club went all of last winter with student-coach Dana Drennan at the reins, but is looking to get someone with the full credentials required by Skate Canada on board for the 2009-10 season.
“We’ve had one application but nothing confirmed of any sort yet,” EFSC president Meredith Croswell noted.
“We’re still actively searching for one, and we have had in the past recruited from out of town, apparently before my time, but anyone with the qualifications will do,” she added.
Several senior skaters with the EFSC had to go to Fort Frances later in the season to fine-tune their skills with a fully-qualified coach—a situation Croswell hopes the club can avoid this coming season.
“Dana had all the qualifications for the levels of her skating, but still has one more year of training left,” Croswell explained. “She’s definitely interested in coming back, but does need to finish her training and the club itself is supporting her with that.
“We do need a head coach, though,” Croswell stressed.
Jerri-Lynn Cousineau coached the program for three years previous, but now stays closer to home with the Border Skating Club here.
“There are people that are qualified living in [International] Falls and one girl in Emo, as there are certain qualifications that are needed through Skate Canada itself, but no one has really come forward just yet,” Croswell lamented. “We’d really be excited if someone would come and check us out.”
Those looking to inquire about the coaching position can do so via e-mail at efsc@live.ca or by calling Croswell at 487-1057.
